Hi!  I'm Ryan Knapton

I'm an avid snowboarder and I've created this webpage to help explain the custom specs that I use for my own snowboard, along with providing as much information as I can to help you, with your specs if you are ever considering a custom made snowboard.
Custom made snowboards have taken my own riding to the Next Level.  To truly get a board to match how I ride and allows me to do what I do, I use a board that is quite different than anything on the market.  On these pages I'll do my best to explain why I use the specs I do, and provide extra insight as to what you may want.

My Specs

Length

160 cm.  For a blend of being able to carve deep aggresive turns, while still being able to to 'buttering' and freestyle tricks I prefer the height of my board to be in between my chin and mouth.

Width

Currently I'm using a waist width of 31.2 cm.  This is insanely wide, but that's what allows me to consistently be able to do deep laid-down carved turns without 'booting-out', while still keeping traditional freestyle stance angles (15,-15).

Sidecut Radius
The past season I moved up from an 8.7m radius, to a 9.8m.  This allows my carved turn to be bigger, but this did take me awhile to get use to, as the board didn't turn like I had been accustomed to.  Primarily I had to learn to keep my knees bent longer in each turn as the board takes more time to complete a turn.  For the next season I will be attempting to use a 12m radius to make my turns even bigger.
